Yesterday was Mum's 87th Birthday. As a form of present, we spent the day together, and I recorded some stories.

The idea is that these "object stories" are meant to capture the memories and meanings attached to personal objects, particularly those tied to loved ones and family history.
The concept began through art curation and deepened during experiences like helping a friend's mother sort through her life’s belongings. These items hold emotional weight, especially for older people, and there's a sadness in simply discarding them. - The Weight of Objects
So I’ve started archiving stories behind objects, beginning with my own family, particularly my mum on her 87th birthday. I recorded and filmed her telling stories about special objects, like an unfired clay teacup from India.
It's a way to preserve something meaningful even after the physical object may be lost. I want to share this practice, maybe even create a kind of digital museum or memorial for such stories, making them available across generations.
